Robbie Tarrant (born 25 April 1989) is an Australian rules footballer for North Melbourne in the Australian Football League. He was taken in the first round with the 15th overall pick in the 2007 AFL Draft. Tarrant has had four shoulder reconstructions whilst at the Kangaroos.[1] He has now recovered from the injuries and played in two pre-season matches in the 2010 NAB Cup, including his first ever game against his brother Chris.[2][3]
Tarrant was born in Mildura, Victoria and is the younger brother of Collingwood defender Chris Tarrant.[2] Tarrant originally played for South Mildura in the Sunraysia Football League and moved to Melbourne in 2005 on an AFL scholarship at Xavier College and graduated in 2006. In 2007 he worked as a teller at Bendigo Bank in Bendigo as well as playing for the Bendigo Pioneers.[4]
